Humans are getting gouged at an alarming rate under our ignominious ogre in the Oafal Office. But his hideous hits extend to enmity of our ecology as well.
It’s puzzling how any animal on the face of the Earth would want to wage war on the world that has created, nurtured and given golf courses to it, but that’s the prevailing policy of the pusillanimous pissant presiding over our country.
As in any war, including terracide (war on the planet), truth is the first casualty. Donald Dump is not acquainted with truth, so anything he attacks gets the full treatment of his brilliant bullsh*t.
He’s the master of mendacity and the pharaoh of fabrication. Well, we all need some skill, don’t we? Most of us don’t have a talent to lie that well because we have a limitation – our conscience. Humpty Trumpty isn’t burdened with that constraint.
His most persistent pernicious lie on environment is that global warming is a hoax. Dump can’t take credit for this falsehood. Ultra-conservative Republicans have been claiming this crock of crap for decades. But they are amateurs compared to the con-mander-in chief.
It doesn’t matter to the deniers that 97% of climate scientists have concluded that global warming is human caused, according to an October 2024 post on NASA’s website.
Yet, despite decades of deceit by Republicans, the American people have been trending toward taking care of our environmental responsibilities. Both the Pew Research Center and Gallup Polls released surveys in 2025 showing that at least 60% of Americans favor stricter environmental laws. The propaganda promoting petroleum has failed to fool the majority of the nation.
But Dumpty Trumpty is determined to resurrect the corpses of the coal companies. Just for fun, guess how long it’s been common knowledge that burning coal produces a poisonous pollutant. 50 years? One hundred? Nope, King Edward I of Britain banned the burning of coal in London in 1306, OVER 700 YEARS AGO! Not that it was enforced much because it was a cheap way to heat homes and businesses.
It’s not so cheap anymore. A September 29 article in The Guardian reported that the Dump Administration is spending $625 million to revive the dying coal industry’s power plants, along with a fabulous freebie of opening up 13 million acres of public lands to coal mining. Those familiar with coal mining know the land is left in ruins. So this is Dump’s dual purpose gift of grift for Big Coal, while sticking the citizens with raped and pillaged public property.
The Guardian article said coal produced only 15% of U.S. electricity in 2024, down from 50% in 2000. That’s because it’s the costliest and most polluting fossil fuel. In the meantime, the non-polluting renewables wind and solar have been steadily rising in use and efficiency while dropping in cost. What’s not to like?
Plenty, if you’re a fossil fool friend of Felon 47. Those guys don’t like any energy plan that doesn’t net them a windfall, even if wind power has to fall to pay for it. Apparently, they don’t care if their lungs breathe foul air, but most of us do. Further, the overheating of the world worsens with coal burning, making the climate more volatile and less livable for all the world’s creatures, not just the human horde hogging the Earth.
That’s the foremost and final question, isn’t it? Do we only care about ourselves, or can we see our enlightened self-interest if we care for the welfare of the world?
