Big Oil contributed one billion dollars to Donald Trump’s 2024 campaign fund, with expectations that this “investment” would benefit them in future government policy. And how! For Big Oil, “promises made, promises kept” is already returning huge dividends, but at our expense.
The attack on Venezuelan gunboats and destruction of any drug evidence is designed to assist regime change, a new American-friendly government, the lifting of sanctions, and Big Oil access to the world’s largest oil reserves.
Wait, there’s more. Trump is saber-rattling with Nigeria, Africa’s largest oil producer. Instead of gunboats, he is camouflaging his intentions by claiming to protect Christians “with guns-a blazing” from Islamic terrorists.
Christian Europe tried similar tactics during The Crusades with catastrophic results. According to Global Christian Relief (May 23, 2025), some 60 countries today suffer forms of Christian persecution. North Korea executes Christians for possessing a Bible. Hindu nationalists in India attack Christians. Blasphemy laws in Pakistan do the same. Attacks are more frequent in Asia, not Africa.
Why doesn’t St. Donald thrust his terrible swift sword against such violence? Simple. None of these countries have large enough oil reserves for Big Oil drilling and profitability.
Unlike Venezuela, where US sanctions prohibit trade, Big Oil is already operating in Nigeria. However, the country is losing billions in oil revenue due to corruption, theft, and vandalism. US military presence could greatly reduce these hindrances and insure riches for Big Oil. You know, just like we did in quagmires like Vietnam and Afghanistan.
This is not to say that the world should turn a blind eye to the Nigerian crisis. Many faith-based groups do such relief work worldwide. I currently support Maryknoll Missionaries, US Catholic-based but active around the world in providing schooling, food, clothing, fresh water, etc. But using military force since World War II has been a losing proposition. It was a major reason Trump rose to power in 2016 pledging to “stop fighting unwinnable wars.”
Many MAGAs, like Marjorie Taylor Greene, are now finally coming to their senses about the true intentions of the new “Teflon Don,” who called her a traitor. His vitriolic name calling is merely a smokescreen for the Project 2025 agenda to benefit the new “Robber Barons” at the expense of the American people.
